Hungarian Apple Chocolate Strudel

Description: This apple strudel combines apples and chocolate in puff pastry wrap with carmel and chocolate sauces. We paired it with Shelton's Estate Reisling that accented the sweet taste of the wine and the strudel.

Ingredients:
  • Puff pastry dough - 2
  • butter, melted - 3/4C
  • Bread crumbs, fine - 1/2C
  • Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut - 8 medium
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips - 1/2C
  • Walnuts, chopped - 1/2C
  • Sugar - 1/2C
  • Cinnamon - 1 1/2t

 

 
Preparation:
This recipe makes 2 strudels. Each will serve 3.
Prep the apples, cinnamon, and chocolate chips, wrap in butter-basted pastry, and roll up.
Sprinkle with sugar and bread crumbs for crunch.
Bake at 350.
